ABOUT ME

I've been making games professionally for about 14 years now, and in that time, I've held a variety of roles ranging from game design to project management. But my passion has always been in storytelling.

After convincing myself that all my weekends spent crafting Call of Cthulhu campaigns could be parleyed into a career path, I ended up graduating from UCLA with a degree in English. Since then, I've had the privilege of living and working in both the US and China. As a result of having had to wear multiple hats across multilingual, multi-cultural environments, I thrive in high-paced, high-stress environments and excel at building strong collaboration across multiple timezones and languages.

I'm constantly pushing for better, smoother deliveries via common, unified goals with my teammates. I always put ego last and bring a problem-solving mindset to the table, involving as many unique perspectives as possible to challenge my biases and coax the best possible work out of everyone involved.

As I maintained in a talk I delivered at ChinaJoy (pictured above) everyone on my team is a storyteller, and it's my job to ensure my team and I are telling a story that is emotionally honest with earned catharsis through grounded characters. I've always believed in the power of diverse voices as key to unlocking the heart of the stories we truly wish to tell - to imprint a piece of ourselves onto what we leave behind in the hopes that our audience may one day follow suit, whatever their medium of choice may be.

When I'm not using too many words to say simple things, I'm usually reading a novel, DJing at a gathering, doing lots of cooking, and thinking way too hard about that cosmic horror book that I swear I will write one day, or playing Magic: the Gathering with the other cool kids.
